MENTORING THROUGH MEDIA
Imagine New Mentors. Invent New Media. Inspire New Possibilities.
--- OUR PROGRAMS ---
Mentoring Through Media programs are designed to feel interactive, fast-paced, and culturally relevant, not instructional or forced.
Moment2Mentor Career Panels
Short, high-energy panels that introduce careers through real conversations. Youth engage directly with professionals in a format designed to capture attention, spark curiosity, and inspire future goals—without overwhelming them.
Mentoring with Movies
We create and curate films and movie-themed experiences to spark meaningful conversations around decision-making, identity, emotions, careers, and life choices—making mentorship more relatable, engaging, and memorable.
Mentor the Press
A press-conference-style experience where youth ask questions and mentors respond —building confidence, communication, and professionalism while exposing participants to careers in journalism, media, and storytelling.
Monday Night Mentoring Live
A recurring weekly hashtag that can also connect to a live experience featuring conversations with mentors, artists, professionals, and community leaders. Youth tune in, engage digitally, and build consistency through ongoing visibility, connection, and dialogue.
Reverse Interviews
Instead of adults interviewing youth, young people interview media personalities, professionals, and influencers on their platforms—creating excitement for youth and increased visibility for the mentoring movement.
Mentoring with Music
We create and use music to spark conversation, explore emotions, highlight career opportunities, and connect culture to purpose. We believe music is powerful—and can influence mindset, decisions, and action.
Mood Monitoring
We support the youth we work with by paying close attention to their social media posts, reels, and online interactions. This helps us stay culturally connected and engaged in ways that traditional mentoring programs often cannot.
Mentorventionists
Mentorventionists are skilled, experienced mentors who are also trained to intervene and help prevent conflicts before they escalate. They are deeply connected to networks of resources and programs that support youth development and long-term success.
Media Collaborations
We create new content, segments, and programs by partnering with media outlets, podcasts, radio stations, creators, journalists, personalities, and digital platforms to generate meaningful impact and expand opportunities for youth.
Mentor Mafia
Mentor Mafia is a playful nickname for Mentoring Through Media’s Board of Directors, along with our most committed mentors, advocates, sponsors, and supporters.
--- Who We Are ---
Mentoring Through Media was created to challenge traditional ideas of mentorship and expand what influence can look like in a digital-first world.
We believe young people don’t lack potential they often lack exposure. Our approach uses media, culture, and storytelling to introduce new possibilities, amplify positive voices, and place relatable mentors directly in front of youth through the platforms they already engage with daily.
Rather than relying solely on one-on-one, in-person mentorship, we focus on:
- Visibility
- Representation
- Consistent digital presence
- Cultural relevance
Our mentors don’t just show up they stay present through posts, reels, music, conversations, and media experiences that reinforce belief and possibility over time.
